Andreas Thorkildsen Javelin Shoe

Andreas “Thor” Thorkildsen broke several records in this innovative javelin shoe that features many unique features. We custom built the right and left plates so that each shoe would flex differently for its use during the run up phase. A power strap added support to this low shoe which allowed him more range of motion during cross over steps. The materials were chosen for their durability and then injected with a TPU to add even more abrasion resistance in the toe. This shoe proved so effective that sponsored Nike athletes wore it for practice. I worked with Andreas at his training camp in San Diego to develop this to his needs.
