The challenge from the Product team was to create the do it all shoe for the runner. It had to look modern, clean, be ultra light and collapsible for travel. Full length carbon for energy return combined with a ETPU midsole and sheet rubber outsole siped for excellent traction in slick wet city environments. The result was the Transport X weighing in at 8 oz but punches well above its weight in terms of energy return.
We used thin single layer meshes to reduce bulk and give a close to the skin feel but without stretch for positive lockdown and containment. Super comfortable heel pocket that was collapsible. We also used a new last that provides great lockdown over mid foot but a wider forefoot for comfort on long runs and for just casual use.
