Created for world record holder Yelena Isinbayeva, this shoe featured a zip up tonneau, internal lacing system, a custom dual density plate and was adorned with Swarovski crystals. She broke several records in these shoes. I travelled to the Olympic training camp in Italy to work with Yelena many times, cast her feet, custom fit her shoes and watch her train. I never got to finish the third version of her shoe which featured two molded EVA halves that were mapped to her feet for perfect fit before I left Li Ning.
